Who we are

S&E Doggy Days is a dog walking business run by Shoni and Ellie. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can contact us about privacy by emailing hello@sedoggydays.co.uk or using the contact form.

What we collect and why

When you send an enquiry

Your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), your dog's name, breed and age, and your message. We use these to reply and to arrange a meet & greet. We rely on your request: you've asked us to get in touch.

When you become a customer

Your address and how we get into your home, an emergency contact, your dog's details including health, behaviour, vet details and when their vaccinations are due, your bookings, walk reports, invoices and payments. We need these to walk your dog safely and to run the service you've asked for. We keep financial records because the law requires it.

We never store key safe codes or alarm codes in our app or on this website. We agree access with you in person.

Your app account

If you use our app, we hold your email address and a securely scrambled version of your password. Nobody, including us, can see your actual password. The app sends you emails such as your invitation and password resets.

Walk tracking and photos

While we're out walking your dog, the walker's phone records the route using GPS, from when we start the walk until we finish it. It doesn't track anyone before or after the walk. From this we make your walk report: a map of the route, how long we were out and how far we went, a note from your walker and up to 2 photos.

  • You can follow the walk live in the app while it's happening, and see the report afterwards.
  • Only you see your dog's report, note and photos. On a group walk, each owner sees the shared route but only their own dog's note and photos.
  • To protect everyone's privacy, owners don't see the first and last 150 metres of a route, so a map never shows where anyone lives.
  • Photos are stored privately. They can only be seen by you and us, through the app.

We use this because it's part of the service you've asked for, and so you know your dog is safe and well looked after.

When you visit this website

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and our fonts are hosted here rather than by Google. Our hosting provider keeps short-term server logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site secure and working.

Who we share it with

  • Netlify, which hosts this website and receives contact form enquiries on our behalf.
  • Supabase, which runs our app: it stores customer, dog, booking and walk details, routes and photos on our behalf, on servers in London.
  • Resend, which sends the app's emails (invitations and password resets) on our behalf.
  • Your vet, only if your dog needs care while with us.
  • Our accountant and HMRC, for tax records.

We never sell your information or use it for anyone else's marketing. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. When they do, they use the legal safeguards UK law requires.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to walks: deleted within 12 months.
  • Walk photos: deleted 12 months after the walk.
  • Customer details, dog details and walk reports (including routes): kept while you're a customer, and deleted within 12 months after you leave.
  • Invoices and payment records: kept as long as HMRC requires, currently at least 5 years after the 31 January tax return deadline for that year.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you
  • correct anything that's wrong
  • delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law
  • stop or limit how we use it

Just get in touch. We'll reply within one month and there's no charge.
